With hot press paper the water and the color is going to sit more on top of the paper and you're going to get less control, with cold press it's just the opposite.

June 23...16:30 ADT....loving your leaf work. Could you tell me what type of brush and size. My brush seams to be spreading by the time I get to the end of my pressure and lift movement. I currently use the aqua elite Princeton round brushes which are suppose to be professional quality here I Canada. Any help would be greatly appreciated ❤

Well, I loved these and I love flowers. However, as a beginner I guess I need a little more explanation or instruction. I tried to follow along but all flowers looked alike and very similar to one another. I never could get the same shapes as you.

This is my favorite video of yours so far because water consistency had me stumped. I also got a question answered that maybe others have. And that is, what’s a better shape palette for mixing? I see you’re testing consistency in a wide open, flat area and demonstrating how to determine it. I’ve been using small little circular cups. Now Imma go make some tea, coffee, milk, cream and butter. But first I will go get a better mixing palette! Thanks so much.

Thank you! This tutorial is fantastic! I can't wait to try this loose Icelandic poppy. I found watercolor last December after being diagnosed with breast cancer. I will tell you that it was like the perfect therapy for me, and I would practice my brush strokes and beginner exercises and just lose all since of time. It's become another addiction along with my love of quilting.

I wish someone would come out with a flexible beginner supply list. Simply choose one brush from category A, two from category B. Same for paper, paint, and other supplies. List several brands and price points, so you could go with what is available in your area. Then make a video showing the exact difference between how the different grades function, so beginners can actually understand their choices. Even better would be one for choising colors. Choose one from the cool red list, one from the warm yellow list, and so on Have a handfull of colors (perhaps split primary, etc ) that are absolute essentials, then a list of extra colors that can be added on according to budget. Choosing expensive supplies without experience is almost impossible, snd very frustrating. Many recommendations are from people who either get a kickback, only buy the very best, or have needs different from the average beginner. An unbiased list that everyone could point beginners to would save a lot of frustration.

I liked learning how to paint a rose leaf And I love the taste of cilantro and feel badly that it tastes like soap to some people cuz it's such a nice flavor in Mexican and Thai cuisine.

I personally use split primaries (warm and cool in both CMY, and RYB) and a little zinc white for tinting because water doesn't desaturate to the tint I want sometimes. I find that unless I use a split primary I run into ugly secondary colors, especially with green and purple. None of us NEED to buy lots of coloring but for me I liken it to our hunting and gathering phase as humans - it is so primal to be addicted to color.

I am here for watercolor, not fashion, so long as there is some helpful information, she could be wearing a full hazmat suit and I wouldn't care. Content over clothing any day. :)
